The receipt says what you bought. Evenwise reads it.
The bank says you spent 62.40 at the supermarket. The receipt says on what. Your device reads it, and your budget knows too.
Every item, every price
Each item with its price, quantity and weight, even from a crooked photo of a creased receipt.
Split across categories
You choose the categories first and move any item with a tap. Each category spends exactly what its items add up to.
Nothing hidden to make it add up
If the items do not reach the total, you see the difference and decide. Not a cent is absorbed quietly.
It learns your shops
It recognizes bags, deposits and discounts, and remembers what each shop prints that is not shopping.
Prices over time
Every product keeps its price history, so you see what went up and where it is cheapest.
Read on your device
Every receipt is read on your phone or Mac, even with no connection. The photo never leaves it.
Your money stays on your device.
There is no account and no server holding your data. What leaves your device, and when, is in the table below.
Encrypted data
Your data is encrypted on your device, and its key lives in the device’s secure storage.
No account
Nothing to sign up for. Your data is yours, and so are the backups.
No tracking
No analytics, no telemetry, no crash-reporting SDK and no ads.
Photos not kept
The receipt photo is read and discarded. Only the items you save are kept.
Private notifications
By default a reminder says “a payment is due tomorrow”, with no name and no amount.
Hide amounts
One setting replaces every figure with dots, for screenshots and public places.
What leaves your device
| What | When |
|---|---|
| Nothing | By default |
| The day’s public exchange rates are downloaded; nothing about you is sent | When you ask for exchange rates |
| Your data, encrypted end to end, to your own iCloud, so your Mac, iPhone and iPad hold the same; Apple cannot read it and we never receive it | When you turn on sync with iCloud |
| Your device asks your bank, through your own application at Enable Banking, for your balances and transactions; to set it up, your email goes to Enable Banking. Nothing passes through us | When you connect a bank |
Ask about your money in your own words.
The assistant answers with a figure Evenwise works out on your device, and shows you where it comes from. It never invents a number.

Every answer is a figure and the transactions behind it, worked out by the same code as the reports.
Alerts on the overview
Charged twice, an unusual payment, a price that went up and a category running out.
Month end
What your accounts will hold at the end of the month, from the commitments still to come.
Your question never leaves your device: the assistant understands it from its own words, and every figure is worked out on your device.
Everything else a serious budget needs.
Built on double-entry bookkeeping, so every figure adds up to the last cent.
Limits or envelopes
Monthly limits for any category, or zero-based envelopes. Switch whenever you like; your figures stay.
Commitments
Rent, salary and subscriptions that repeat, recorded with one tap, and what is left at month end.
Subscriptions found
Spotted in your history from charges that repeat, including the ones you forgot.
Reports that lead somewhere
Where it went, income against spending, net worth and a Sankey of the month. Tap any slice to see its transactions.
Your own questions
Filter, group and measure. Typical values, never averages, with the count always beside the figure.
Goals
Save toward an amount, add the same each month, or keep a category under a set amount.
Any currency
Each account in its own currency, with your own exchange rates or the ones central banks publish.
Statement import
CSV, OFX, QFX and QIF with a full preview and duplicate detection.
Discreet reminders
A heads-up before a payment is due, with nothing on the lock screen that gives it away.
Reconcile to the cent

Frequently asked questions
Where is my data kept?
On your device, in an encrypted database. There is no account and no server holding it.
Does it connect to my bank?
Not yet. You add transactions by hand, scan receipts or import your bank’s statement file (CSV, OFX, QFX or QIF).
What does the assistant do with my data?
It reads only your question, on your device, from its own words: no model and no connection. Every figure is worked out on your device from your own data.
Which receipts can it read?
Printed receipts from supermarkets and shops: prices, quantities, weights and tax. A creased or crooked receipt is fine.
Can I use it on several devices?
There are apps for iPhone, Mac and Android. Each one keeps its own data on its device; they do not sync yet.
What does it cost?
The iPhone and Android app is free. Evenwise Plus adds the deep analysis: 2.99 € a month, 24.99 € a year with 14 days free, or 59.99 € once. Evenwise for Mac is 59 €, paid once, with everything in Plus.
Which languages and currencies?
The app is in English and Spanish. Each account can use any currency, including ones you create, and figures follow your region’s format.
